An update on my once-joyous news that I'd sold a manga series.
Well. The publisher, Yaoi Press, turned out to be offering a work-for-hire
deal, meaning
they'd have all the rights to the story, the characters, etc. for all
time. Not only that, but
they were offering a flat (very low) per page fee with no royalty.
Ahem.
Needless to say, I could have tried to negotiate for a better deal but
there were a few other
quirks in the contract which led me to consider that maybe I didn't want
to do business
with this outfit at all.
Two weeks later she made my decision for me when, citing financial
problems, she
withdrew the offer.
WTF??
Oh well, easy come easy go...


At least it gives you an excuse to experiment with free verse.
What's that? Just a formatting problem? Oh.
Never mind.
