So THE BOY FROM ILYSIES (the sequel to LIBYRINTH) is finally making its way into production. This week I am wrapping up my long-awaited editor's revisions and by this Friday, I'll be turning in the version of the book that you will see next fall, plus or minus a few copy edits.
I'm a compulsive reviser, so even though I completed BOY on time, I've been tweaking it ever since, sometimes making changes only to go back later and reinstate the original version of a scene. Oy! It gets exhausting after awhile. This deadline is just what I need to force myself to make up my mind.
And even though I've been dreading this do-or-die phase of the project because, well, it's do or die, I have to say that I am amazed at how smoothly it's going so far. *knock on wood*
The best part? Rediscovering that I really, really like this book. The main character is Po, who you might remember from LIBYRINTH. He's the eponymous boy from Ilysies. I had a great time looking at the world through his eyes, and I hope you'll enjoy it too.
