- "With Libyrinth, I started out writing a book about censorship, and wound up writing a book about peace. During the time that I wrote it, two things happened which shaped the course of the story. One is that our country invaded Iraq, and the other is that I became a Buddhist. The central character, Haly, starts out in a place where she believes she knows who is good and who is bad.
